Warren Democratic senator sponsors bill to revamp Michigan fireworks law

Sen. Paul Wojno from Warren hopes the third time will be the charm for Senate Bill 17, which seeks to amend the Michigan fireworks safety act and reduce the amount of days residents can legally use fireworks. Wojno introduced the bill last week, making it the third time since he was elected to the state senate in 2018 that he has championed such an amendment. 'When we approach Memorial Day or the Fourth of July, we are seeing fireworks being discharged earlier and earlier before the holiday and for several days after the holiday,' said Wojno.
